Why Live in Charlotte?
Besides the fact that Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the United States and the largest city in the Carolinas it is also one of the cleanest cities on the East Coast. The neighborhoods are gorgeous and the history behind how this City was planned is amazing. With 2020 vision, one can see the development of Charlotte’s varied communities and neighborhoods. A story can be told of how the collaboration of city officials with the residence of Charlotte made this city such a marvelous place to live. With lots of hard work and determination this city has evolved into the third fastest growing city in the United States. You can purchase a home anywhere but the comfort of living in Charlotte with its economic growth, diversity and high quality of life will put you and your family at ease. Living in the Queen City has been a blessing for my family and me.
If you don’t know your past how do you determine what the future will bring? Charlotte has a beautiful future ahead of it. Each neighborhood was carefully planned in the early 19th century and this ideology has been carried into the future when it comes to urban development and renewal. The city of Charlotte has a strategic plan that was adopted by the City Council in 2011. Charlotte’s 2020 Vision Plan depicts a true City with beautiful parks, walkable communities, museums, learning institutions, shops, cafes and restaurants. This plan not only encompasses the Center City but it outreaches to the surrounding communities and neighborhoods of Charlotte. This is evident with the expansion of the light rail from Uptown to University City.
Living in Charlotte you will find a sense of community and neighborly love that I haven’t seen in a while. When driving down some of the suburbs of Charlotte the tranquility of the tree line streets brings a sense of calmness and protection to your spirit. Charlotte provides an atmosphere of Old School Southern Charm with a Northern flare that I simply enjoy. Residents are polite, friendly and welcoming.
Out of the 365 days in the year 218 are sunny in the Queen City. The winters are mild and summers can be humid but you can plan a two-hour get away into the mountains, where you can light a fire or enjoy a cool breeze. If that is too far of a trek, then a 20-minute drive from Uptown to Lake Norman may be just the day trip you need. Whether cycling, tennis, white water rafting, art or just lying out in the park and daydreaming, there is something to do for everyone in the Queen City.
This City has a loyal do or die fan base when it comes to their sports teams. When I decided to design a pair of Nike tennis shoes the same color as the Panther’s Football team’s uniform that was it Charlotte was my home and I of course am now a loyal do or die fan.
